Article Submission Experiment Recap / Result.
From the five directories I submitted too three published the article. I’m not sure if the others have rejected the article or just not reviewed it. But from the three that have published the article we have had a few new visitors nothing major but I should think pretty well targetted traffic seen as the article was regarding domain names and this site is geared towards web masters. The articles created initially three new backlinks but over the past few weeks we have noticed more and more backlinks accumulating as the article gets republished at various web sites.
Overall article submission to various directories is a good promotional tool. As with anything the more time you put in the more reward you will receive. I only submitted to five directories but there are literally hundreds available to submit too see here for a comprehensive listing. I am in the process of submitting the same article to a lot more targeted directories on the above list.
Here are a few tips for using article submission in your web sites marketing plan ;
- The more time you spend submitting to directories especially targeted ones the more return you will get
- Make your article over 250 words and of some interest. It does not have to be a masterpiece but it must be of some standard.
- Try to create something unique as opposed to re-using content currently on your web site. I advise this in light of google of where they will be going with duplicate content. Nobody is sure yet but it is best to stay safe.
- Create around five different author bios depending on how many sites you are submitting too. For the first test I didn’t do this but it is a good idea. Just create one and tweak slightly for the other four or however many you decide to have.
